Props to my peeps in Canada, Brasil, the UK, northern Asia, Kazakhstan and Australia...oh, and the USA

Who reads and really cares about what I have to say about health, Chiropractic and bicycling? Well it turns out that besides the usual suspect bunch of cycling gear heads here in the good'ole-USofA I have a bunch of fans in Canada, Brasil, the UK, northern Asia, Kazakhstan and Australia (Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!). Well who knew? I found it interesting to learn where my readers call home. I respond to all my emails and posts, so cheers to you and thanks for reading along. Dr. C

  2. Good day Dr C. I am a 57 year old keen mountainbiker. Had three bad falls last year, which had the compounded effect (I presume)of causing chronic neck pains/headaches. Pain follows route of right side of neck to right shoulder and then down to my arm sometimes. Most of the times I can live with it, but when riding sometimes it just get unbearable. Yesterday I took my newly acquired Bianchi Oetzi out for a 65 kms -4 hours ride (relative tough conditions - bushveld north of Pretoria)and the pain started to develop in the neck and got progressively worse. I am a type 2 diabetes case, and then a hipoglycemic attack developed (for that I am well prepared).

This newly acquired Biachi has a more sporty set-up - lower down profile when riding, and I think maybe that position could contributed by putting more stress on my neck.

    Now my question is:

    1. Can chiropracter sort this out to the extent I maintain current position on the bike (which I prefer given less wind resistance), or lies the answer in going to chiropracter and then experiment with the bike settings?

I refuse to go to my GP about this since I have a fairly good idea what the result would be - go for x rays - then another consultation and then the remedy "drugs". I do not have the money for that.

Before my bad falls last year I could race a 6 hours race on another bike, also with a very sporty setting and no worries except the natural fatigue factor.

    Tks
